On November 4, 2021, Rector of L.N. Gumilyov ENU Erlan Sydykov met with Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Marco Alberti.
Long-term partnership is conducted in the areas of academic mobility, scientific internships, implementation of joint research projects, creation of double degree programs, etc.
Since 2019, the Enrico Mattei Center for Italian Culture has been operating at the University within the framework of a memorandum between the Embassy of Italy, ENU and Ajip Caspian Sea B.V.
A PhD in Mathematics is being jointly prepared with the University of Padua on the basis of a signed agreement.
In turn, the Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan proposed to find one Italian university for each Kazakh university, identifying one or two areas of cooperation. According to the diplomat, this way it is possible to increase the effectiveness of the joint work of the countries in the field of education and science at times.
Having supported the idea of the interlocutor, Erlan Sydykov noted that today there is a great interest from the Italian side in the joint study of such sciences as archeology and computer science.
Stressing that the university has rich and valuable resources for conducting archaeological research, the scientist proposed to create Italian-Kazakh archaeological expeditions.
Following the meeting, the parties identified the vectors of movement in the field of educational and scientific partnership, and also considered new opportunities for fruitful cooperation.
