Kazakh scientist has developed and implemented a Braille system simulator
The start-up team of the famous inventor, now the leading scientist of the Indian-Kazakhstani Center of Excellence IKCEICT ENU Galimzhan Gabdreshov, founder of the Public Association of Disabled People (POI) "SEZUAL", a member of the PARAM Consortium of leading universities and developers, took the shortest path.
Without seeking funding for the scientific part, the members of the team invested their own money and, in close cooperation with the teachers of schools for blind children, turned their idea into a working prototype. By presenting it to investors, they were able to prove the demand for their product and received funding from Tengizchevroil LLP for the serial production of the product.
November 30, 2021, an official ceremony of presentation of 45 Electronic Braille Self-Teaching Books in Kazakh, Russian and English languages, developed by the POI "SEZUAL", was held by the order of typhlopedagogues of "Regional Special Boarding School of the Education Department of Atyrau Region" with sponsorship of the Tengizchevroil company.
In 2020, the SEZUAL team was shortlisted for the World Summit Awards for an invention that improves the quality of life of hundreds of millions of blind people around the world.
The European Council of Scientists on Innovation for Persons with Disabilities has placed an invention in the field of dowsing in the TOP-10 significant scientific papers on science intensity, overtaking scientific innovation from Harvard University and Microsoft.
The World Bank recognized Gabdreshov's invention as the pride of their scientific grant program.
The mobile electronic-alphabetical trainer for studying the Braille system solves successfully the problem of literacy of children with visual impairments in Kazakhstan and in the world.
The invention is in line with the third, fourth and eighth of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and is in line with Tengizchevroil's values of education, healthcare and scalability for all blind children in the world.
Lyazzat Zhaishylykovna, head of the Regional Special Boarding School of the Atyrau Region, made a speech of thanks, in which she noted:
- The invention of "SEZUAL Self-Study Braille" has proven its effectiveness in teaching letters, numbers and arithmetic signs. Thanks to this technology, our pupils have the opportunity to do their homework. More importantly, children now independently master new symbols in their free time, significantly ahead of the process of tactile Braille learning. This incredibly saves the teacher's time, which the typhlopedagogues demonstrated with pleasure, showing how talented children learned many symbols independently. We express our deep gratitude to Tengizchevroil and SEZUAL for the invaluable support provided to our school.
Scientist Gabdreshov said in his response:
- All people on earth are one big family. Moreover, children are the main ones in the family. For children who are blind and visually impaired, reading and writing Braille is the key to literacy, successful employment and independence. We are grateful to the world scientific community, the World Bank, the United Nations for the recognition of our inventions - one of the most significant discoveries for humankind. We sincerely thank our sponsors – Tengizchevroil – for their full support of our socially innovative project for the benefit of inclusive children. "
G. Gabdreshov had invented single Braille system for Chinese language.
He is working now on the creation of a single Braille system for all languages of India.
