Korisu Kuni is a unique tradition
The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University celebrated the holidays "Korisu Kuni" (Meeting Day (after winter) and "Amal Kuni" (Day of Rebirth (Renewal), which became the beginning of the Nauryz holiday. By this day, a series of educational events was launched at the university.
"The korisu rite have existed for a long time and is now being revived again. On the instructions and support of the President of the country, the scale of the holiday has expanded today. We celebrate the beginning of the year during ten days. Every day has its own name and purpose," ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov said.
Korisu kuni is a day of greeting and paying homage to elders, as well as the first celebration of the spring onset. On this day, all university staff and students dressed in Kazakh national clothes, thereby expressing their commitment to national traditions and customs.
