The second graduation of students from the Dual Degree Program!
On June 21, 2024, Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov (ENU) and National Research University of Electronic Technology (MIET, Moscow, Russia, https://miet.ru/news/165593) celebrated a significant event – the graduation of master’s students from the dual degree program! This program, which started in 2021, combines the efforts of our universities to train highly qualified specialists in the fields of microelectronics and radio-electronic equipment design.
This year, three master’s students successfully defended their theses:
- Alibek B. - "Research and Design of Polyimide Substrates for Flexible Printed Circuit Boards for Wireless Sensors," supervised by D. Musakhanov from ENU and V. Kalugin from MIET.
- Kadyrova Zh. - "Research of Polymer Microstructures for Redistribution Layers of Microchip Packages with Embedded Crystals," supervised by A. Aikeeva from ENU and N. Korobova from MIET.
- Nazirkulov - "System Approach to the Design and In-Circuit Diagnostics of Printed Circuit Boards for Locomotives," supervised by N. Burambaeva from ENU and V. Kalugin from MIET.

About the Educational Program
The joint dual degree program is based on the master's program "Design and Construction of Radio-Electronic Equipment" at ENU and the master's program of the Institute of Nano- and Microsystems Technology "Integrated Design of Microsystems Using Mentor Graphics Tools" at MIET. This program was developed for master’s students who wish to delve deeper into the world of microelectronics and the design of electronic industry products.
The joint program involves training master’s students from both universities in the disciplines and practices of both institutions in approximately equal volumes. It is also noteworthy that ENU master’s students have the opportunity to take MIET courses online, allowing them to study without leaving ENU. Lectures and practical classes are conducted using video conferencing tools, and access to software for laboratory work is provided through the Center for Collective Design of Electronic Component Base and Radio-Electronic Equipment. Electronic educational courses developed at the Institute of Nano- and Microsystems Technology of MIET are also used for students' independent work.
