Presentation of Educational Programs at the Faculty of Natural Sciences

On January 21, 2025, at 3:00 PM, a seminar titled "The Present and Future of Educational Programs at the Faculty of Natural Sciences" was held in room 333 of the main building (CISI) at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The seminar was moderated by Ardak Bakytuly Beisenbay, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Member of the Board.

The event was attended by members of the University’s Board of Directors, employers, department heads, faculty professors, and students. Among the invited employers were representatives from “KMG PetroChem,” the National Biotechnology Center, the “Transfusion Scientific and Production Center,” “Gronos Group,” and “Eco-Dos.”

During the seminar, five departments of the Faculty of Natural Sciences presented their educational programs:

• Department of Chemistry – 9 educational programs;
• Department of Physical and Economic Geography – 8 educational programs;
• Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology – 6 educational programs;
• Department of General Biology and Genomics – 4 educational programs;
• Department of Environmental Management and Engineering – 4 educational programs.

A key highlight of the seminar was the active participation of employers, who shared valuable recommendations for improving the quality of educational programs and adapting them to meet modern labor market and scientific demands.

The Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Zharas Galimzhanovich Berdenov, emphasized the importance of such seminars in shaping and advancing educational programs. He noted that open discussions with employers and students help identify strengths and areas for growth in program development.

The seminar concluded with a fruitful discussion on promising directions and innovative approaches to the development of educational programs, laying the foundation for further improvements in preparing future specialists.
