Orientation conference for 1st-year students before field training

On May 16, 2025, an orientation conference was held at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University for 1st-year students of the 6B05209 – Geography educational program. The event brought together nearly 80 students from four academic groups.

The conference aimed to introduce students to the objectives, structure, and timeline of the upcoming field training, scheduled to take place from May 19 to June 14, 2025, at the “Parus” sports and recreation complex in Zerenda, Akmola Region.

Special attention was given to safety regulations. The students received a detailed safety briefing covering personal protection measures, emergency response, field conduct, and first aid. Only those who completed the instruction will be allowed to participate in the practice.

The practice schedule was presented, outlining the following activities: microclimatic observations, soil trenching and analysis, geobotanical surveys, topographic leveling, GPS measurement, terrain mapping, and post-field processing.

The orientation was conducted by the practice supervisors – Zhinabdin N.B., Karagoyshin Zh.M., and Salikhov T.K., who answered questions and provided comprehensive guidance on all aspects of the upcoming fieldwork.
