
CURATORIAL SESSION ON THE TOPIC: “ACADEMIC INTEGRITY – THE FOUNDATION OF A FUTURE PROFESSIONAL”

On April 28, 2025, a curatorial session was held in Auditorium 218 for first-year students of the educational program 6B04204 – “Judicial-Prosecutorial and Investigative-Criminalistic Activities” at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The session was conducted under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines, Candidate of Law, E.A. Ashimova.
The main goal of the session was to promote a deeper understanding of the principles of academic integrity among students and to foster a culture of fairness, responsibility, and independent learning in the academic environment.
During the session, the curator provided a comprehensive explanation of the concept of academic integrity and emphasized its importance in higher education. Particular attention was given to various types of academic misconduct, including cheating, plagiarism, falsification of information, and the use of unauthorized assistance in completing assignments, along with a discussion of their potential consequences.
Students were presented with excerpts from internal regulations governing higher education institutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan and were introduced to the university’s academic policy. An interactive discussion was organized, where students engaged in analyzing practical scenarios and distinguishing between ethical and unethical academic behavior.
At the conclusion of the session, students noted that academic integrity is not merely a university requirement but a fundamental value that underpins professional ethics. They expressed their willingness to be evaluated fairly, take responsibility for their learning, and uphold the principles of academic honesty.
The session played a significant role in strengthening students’ accountability in the educational process and had a positive impact on their personal and professional development.
