On June 9, 2025, the Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, in collaboration with the Kazakhstan Geotechnical Society, organized a scientific seminar dedicated to academic programs, research activities, and international exchange opportunities at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). XJTLU is a leading Chinese-British educational institution located in Suzhou, China.
The seminar's keynote speaker was Dr. Ankit Garg (Associate Professor of XJTLU), who provided a detailed overview of XJTLU’s structure, English-taught multi-disciplinary science and engineering programs-ranging from Health and Environmental Science, Bioinformatics, Chemistry and Material Science as well as Civil Engineering, ongoing research projects, and international partnerships.
XJTLU offers 14 academic programs in technical and natural science fields, including: biological sciences, bioinformatics, Chemistry and Material Science, environmental science, civil engineering, architecture, computer science, and intelligent systems.
The seminar was attended by faculty members and PhD students from the Department of Civil Engineering and other at L.N. Gumilyov ENU and from Nazarbayev University. The participants showed particular interest in the opportunities to take part in joint research projects, as well as in the academic exchange programmes offered by XJTLU for students and young researchers from Kazakhstan.
