Freedom Holding Corp. and ENU Endowment Fund awarded scholarships to students
The Freedom Shapagat Corporate Foundation has established annual scholarships for ten bachelor’s students and L.N.Gumilyov ENU College students.
One-year scholarships were awarded to 6 university students and 4 college students. Many of them pay their tuition fees.
“Last year, ENU alumni created the ENU Endowment Fund to support our talented students. At the initiative of our endowment fund, a huge amount of assistance was provided to students who are in need of social support during the year. It is gratifying that not only our alumni and patrons, but also large companies continue the baton. We hope that this is the first project on the long path of our cooperation with the “Freedom Shapagat” Corporate Foundation. Investing in education by business and alumni is an indicator of a developed society,” Duman Aitmagambetov, ENU Vice-Rector for Strategic Development said.
The scholarships were established by the “Freedom Shapagat” Corporate Foundation. Competitive selection was conducted among students in economic and information technology areas. The scholarship holders were determined based on the results of the review of their scientific papers, academic performance indicators, motivational letters and self-presentations in video format.
“Education plays a pivotal role in creating a sustainable future. We hope that this scholarship will serve as an inspiration for further efforts and achievements. I would like to wish everyone who has been awarded a scholarship to support their desire for growth and self-development. You will shape a more equitable, environmentally sustainable and prosperous future. I see that you have a very good organization that has formed an endowment fund to support from alumni to students, communication between students and the outside world,” Baglana Musina, President of the Freedom Shapagat Foundation said.
Inkar Kairatova, a 3rd-year student of the ENU College, notes that the scholarship award competition has opened up new prospects for her.
“I am really delighted that ENU students receive great support from large companies and alumni. This opportunity stimulates us and opens up new horizons for development and professional growth. Investing in education is a good example for everyone, I am sure this practice will become a tradition in the future,” Inkar shared.
The holder of the annual scholarship, a 4th year student of the ENU Faculty of Economics Ramazan Mukhamedzhanov was paying his tuition fee. He notes that he will try to justify the trust of sponsors and his home university.
“Since I am paying my tuition fee, it was important for me to use this opportunity. I decided to participate and did not lose the chance. I thank my home university and patrons for organizing such a wonderful opportunity and support. This gave me an incentive for further research and doing science,” he said.
The event was also attended by Executive Secretary of the Financial Market Council Sergey Erlik, faculty and students.
It should be noted that in 2022, on the initiative of the university alumni, the ENU Endowment Fund was created. As part of its activities, everyone who wants supports talented and needy students. In a short period of time, about 20 ENU students received monthly scholarships and grants for training from the endowment fund.
