
Authors of the Best Massive Open Online Courses Recognized at ENU

At L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, as part of the celebration of the university’s 30th anniversary, the results of the “Best MOOC” competition organized by the Department of Online Learning were summed up. The event was aimed at promoting the digitalization of higher education, developing a culture of distance learning, and encouraging instructors who create high-quality digital content.
Within the framework of the competition, courses were evaluated according to multiple criteria: methodological value, interactivity, accessibility of the material, and audience engagement. Based on the selection results, the winners were determined and ceremoniously awarded in unique categories highlighting the strengths of the presented digital projects.
Competition winners in the categories:
- “Best Interactive Communication” - Liliya Mukazhanova;
- “For Contribution to Inclusive Education” - Bibigul Dyusenbaeva;
- “Biogeography in Digital Format” - Zhanslu Inkarova;
- “Engaging Presentation of Material” - Talgat Akhazhanov;
- “Most Viewed Course” - Dauren Matin.
“Active Author of the Year” - this prestigious award was given to three outstanding instructors:
- Kyrmyzy Balabekova;
- Kuanysh Baltabaev;
- Kulshat Akanova.
“Developing our own MOOCs is an important step toward integrating ENU into the international educational space. Over 30 years, our university has evolved from a classical institution into one of the leaders of digital transformation in education in Kazakhstan. Our instructors demonstrate that even the most complex academic disciplines—from biogeography to specialized inclusive programs-an be made accessible, interactive, and engaging for thousands of learners,” noted the Vice-Rector for Digitalization.
The winners were awarded honorary diplomas and commemorative prizes. The online courses they created will continue to operate on ENU educational platforms, providing access to high-quality knowledge for university students and anyone interested in self-education.
