ENU Faculty Members Complete the “EdMedia for Educators” Professional Development Course

The professional development course “EdMedia for Educators,” developed by the Department of Online Learning of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, was successfully conducted from May 20 to June 3, 2026. The course was designed to enhance the digital competencies of the university’s faculty and staff and to develop practical skills in the effective use of artificial intelligence tools in the educational process.
A total of 92 faculty members and staff participated in the program, improving their knowledge and practical skills in the application of modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence tools through 72 academic hours of training. During the course, participants gained hands-on experience working with AI tools within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, the capabilities of the Google Gemini platform, and the ChatGPT Edu system. The program also covered the development of interactive educational content, the creation of digital assessment tools, the fundamentals of prompt engineering, and the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence.
The training was delivered in a practice-oriented format. Participants completed assignments focused on creating subject-specific AI agents, developing test questions, designing presentations, generating instructional materials, and creating digital educational resources. In the final stage of the program, participants presented educational materials developed for their disciplines using artificial intelligence tools and demonstrated the practical application of the knowledge and skills they had acquired.
The “EdMedia for Educators” course became one of the university’s key initiatives aimed at the digital transformation of the educational process, enhancing faculty proficiency in modern technologies, and effectively integrating artificial intelligence tools into teaching and learning activities.
Upon successful completion of the course, all participants received professional development certificates. Electronic versions of the certificates were uploaded to the SmartENU information system and made available to the participants. Course participants also shared positive feedback about the program, highlighting its practical value and relevance.
