Students of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography are interning at the National Center of Geodesy and Spatial Information

Since May 22 of the current year, students of the 2nd and 3rd year of the EP "6V07311- Geodesy and Cartography" have been undergoing practical training at the branches of the Republican State Enterprise "National Center for Geodesy and Spatial Information".

RSE “National Center for Geodesy and Spatial Information” (hereinafter referred to as RSE) is the only enterprise in Kazakhstan whose main activity is the performance of works of state significance, namely the creation of a state geodetic network and the corresponding coordinate system, delimitation and demarcation of the State Border, aerial photography , creation and updating of state topographic maps of the entire scale range, creation of the State catalog of names of geographical objects, etc. Currently, the RSE is implementing the project "Creation of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure", within the framework of which work is being carried out to create a state geodetic network and establish a unified state coordinate system QTRS, instead of the coordinate system SK-42. And our students had a great honor to participate in the modernization of the system of state geodetic support of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the creation of basic spatial data.

Before the start of work, the heads of the RSE practices acquainted the students with the regulatory and technical documentation, the instrumentation equipment used, software that uses geodetic measurements in the office processing of the results of geodetic measurements, and also provided them with uniforms. In addition, they conducted a safety briefing in the production of topographic and geodetic works.

The purpose of the production practice is to acquire and assimilate practical skills in the conditions of the production and economic activities of the enterprise under the guidance of specialists from the RSE. Our students, during their internship, working with modern equipment and devices, software products, will master the entire cycle of field and cameral work, get acquainted with the industry qualification framework. And most importantly, our students make a small contribution to the creation of the state geodetic network and the establishment of a unified state coordinate system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This internship will become an opportunity to “plunge” into your future profession for several months, and in addition to acquiring professional skills, you will encounter the concepts of “field allowance”, etc. for most of our students, their work will be paid.
