On this basis, it is promising to study academic mobility as a factor that has a positive effect on the competitiveness of university graduates and inevitably affects the reputation and attractiveness of both specific universities and the national education system as a whole. Purpose of the dissertation thesis is the comprehensive analysis of the role of academic mobility in increasing the competitiveness of graduates of Kazakhstan universities in the conditions of the domestic labor market. Research objectives are followings: -to specify theoretical and methodological approaches to the implementation of academic mobility, taking into account the international and Kazakh pool of scientific research and practical developments; – explore the migration aspect of student mobility; – summarize global university experience in terms of academic mobility programs and enhancing the competitiveness of graduates; – identify the main directions and features of the development of academic mobility in the Republic of Kazakhstan; – conduct a sociological survey among the contingent of bachelor's, master's and PhD programs in Kazakhstan universities and based on the responses received, trace the main positive trends and disadvantages that characterize academic mobility; – using the example of Kazakhstan universities to carry out an analysis of how academic mobility functions in the Republic of Kazakhstan today, and also determine what the role of the phenomenon under study is in increasing the competitiveness of university graduates in their employment and what measures are most optimal to achieve this. Research methods. The study was carried out using general scientific methods and techniques. Of particular note is the use of descriptive, system-analytical and statistical methods. The first of them made it possible to analyze the current state of mobility in universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A systematic approach was used throughout the work on the dissertation. To work with the regulatory field in the area under study, a system-analytical method was used, while the collection and analysis of data on mobility in universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan was carried out using a statistical method. A comparative analysis was carried out based on the material of foreign experience in comparison with the Kazakh experience. The analysis method revealed the dynamics of the internationalization of domestic education through the introduction and spread of academic mobility in the republic. Scientific novelty: The scientific novelty of the dissertation research lies in the fact that it attempts to systematize theoretical and methodological developments regarding student mobility and comprehensively assess the policies implemented by universities in this area in the field of higher education, taking into account practical international and domestic experience. This allowed us to obtain new results, in particular: 1. the theoretical and methodological aspects of the analysis of the problems of internationalization of education and academic mobility were clarified and generalized; The author's interpretation of the concept of «competitiveness of university graduates» is given in both a broad and narrow sense. 2. the practice of academic mobility as one of the factors ensuring the competitiveness of university graduates is generalized, as well as based on the analysis of the experience of foreign countries in the implementation of academic mobility - the main factors influencing academic mobility, positive trends and disadvantages in its implementation are identified 3. The SWOT analysis method was applied and the range of advantages of the phenomenon under study was indicated, namely: the emergence of students’ desire to gain new knowledge, ideas and absorb other approaches to learning, the development of skills and professional knowledge among students, the development of hard and soft skills, exchange experience and feedback, networking, involvement of talented students, increasing academic performance and competitiveness in the labor market. 4. a policy of academic mobility has been proposed, allowing universities in Kazakhstan to improve their reputation, improve the quality of education and the competitiveness of graduates; 5. a multidimensional logistic model has been developed to predict the employment of graduates who have undergone academic mobility and a close relationship has been proven between such parameters as «state creation of jobs», «employment within one year», «knowledge of a foreign language», «acquired as a result of academic mobility» «research skills and competencies», «level of education and university rating».
