Abstract (English): Dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the educational program «8D02305 - Philology» Kurmanbekova Zulfiya Rakhmatdildayevna on the topic “The role of social networks in linguistic communication realization (in the context of social consciousness and linguistic culture)’’. Relevance of the research topic. Today, the rapid growth of information technology has created the internet space, and the internet is now the primary mechanism in the development of civilization, and it is regarded as an essential component of public culture. The internet is a channel for accumulating, storing, and distributing any type of information. The emergence of the internet has presented linguists with a new object of study: the subject of "language and the internet". This is strongly tied to the growing importance of the internet and computers in human life, as well as the increase in the amount of texts written through computer-indirect communication (CPF). The greatest achievement and feature of Kazakh technical culture in the twenty-first century is the thorough penetration of the internet into all aspects of our lives. The computer and the internet have created a new communicative environment in our language: an electronic/virtual world that complements and harmonizes with one another through oral and written communication. This combination helped to shape and develop electronic/virtual literature in the Kazakh language, allowing it to be represented as objective reality. Many communicative practices have been transmitted to the internet: the rate of language use on the network is increasing, allowing for the construction of a unique communicative environment, or space. In World Linguistics, there is a growing focus on Internet linguistics. Scientists are increasingly interested in the language of social networks, which is comparable to the "internet" within the internet. It is well understood that any language can be expressed in two ways: oral and written. Since the creation of the social network, a third type of communication has emerged: a language of virtual communication distinguished by its distinguishing traits based on the order of existence, integrating the two previously stated. The importance of linguistic study in determining the linguistic image of the social network as a means of implementing language communication has been highlighted in modern public consciousness. The purpose of the research work. To determine the role of social network language as a mode of language communication, linguostilistic aspects in the context of public awareness and language culture, and methods of linguistic and nonverbal transformation. The aim of the study allowed formulating the following objectives of the research: - to define the essence of the internet language as a unique means of communication, the course of research; - identifying social network language usage and linguistic characteristics; - identifying network etiquette and language culture aspects that impact it negatively; - identifying certain linguistic elements of the language of the social network. - describe the language of the social network from a pragmatic standpoint; - to identify the communicative types of social network users based on the characteristics of communication methods and language spending; Research methods. The thesis includes a variety of linguistic techniques, including structural and functional analysis of language units, classification and systematization, pragmatic analysis, comparison and partial comparison, components and contextual analysis. During the survey and linguistic control, mass sorting was employed. Methods for social monitoring (analysis of language unit features in the language of the social network) and content analysis (analysis of comments in the language of the social network, analysis of netizen language features) were employed. The scientific novelty. The thesis work focuses on a comprehensive linguostylistic description of the language of the social network, which has yet to be fully scientifically described in Kazakh linguistics. The scientific novelties of the research endeavor include: - the direction of the research of the online language as a special communication environment has been identified; - the social network, a new medium for communication, reflects the peculiarities of language units' self-expansion, highlights its key characteristics, and offers new language resources for scientific study. - network etiquette issues surfaced in the public domain; the process of their formation and factors that negatively impact language culture were identified. - the pragmatic nature of social networks and netizens' strategic goals led to the first demonstration of their communicative types; - the meaning of the term "image of the network universe" was initially considered; - graphic and content transformation of social network actions was examined. Theoretical significance. The concerns raised in the research contribute to theoretical new concepts and ideas in a variety of Kazakh linguistics fields, including linguopragmatics, text linguistics, discourse theory, cognitive linguistics, linguostilistics, and language culture. The practical significance. The research findings, collected materials, and conclusions can be used to provide scientific courses and special seminars on topics such as "Modern Kazakh Language," "Sociolinguistics," "Fundamentals of language communication," "Language culture," "Stylistics and language culture," "Language of modern media," and the creation of an internet language dictionary. The main provisions for the defense of the thesis: 1. The internet language combines parts of written and oral language while retaining its unique language traits. Because this feature is based on computer communication, the internet language is regarded a new sort of communication and a type of discourse; 2. Social networks, as a new type of communication, are born socio-communicative experience and environment, whose characteristic features are: 1) anonymity; 2) the fact that online communication is realized at the will and desire of the netizens; 3) the use of nonverbal tricks, including text, in the transmission of emotionality; 4) the deviation of actions on the network from universal social norms. 3. The linguistic culture adapts to the unique features of the new communication context, the social network. The elimination of space-time constraints, the potential of synchronous and asynchronous communication, a high level of anonymity, and the usage of the Internet in all areas of human activity contributed to the formation of a specific network etiquette. 4. The language of the social network is distinguishable by the following linguistic features: 1) colloquialization; 2) expressiveness; 3) multicodicity; 4) speech structuring and assimilation, adopting multilingualism characteristics; 5. The pragmatic component of social networking is strongly tied to the opportunities provided by the site to netizens. Based on the nature of the implementation of communication channels in the social network, four major strategic directions have been identified: 1) Communication; 2) Information; 3) Coordination; and 4) Emotion. 6. Several communicative styles are recognized in social networks based on netizens' strategic goals; 7. Nonverbal cues are utilized in social networks to convey expressiveness and emotions. Emoticons are classified into five classes based on what they symbolize. 1) certain emoticons; 2) people; 3) nature; 4) food; 5) things and symbols; 8. Internet memes appeared when the internet's genre structures became more complicated and developed. An online meme is a cultural code that depicts life/networking behavior for a social network's group of internet users, with the goal of instantly translating individual communicative presuppositions into Creole and textual formats. Publication and approval of the research work. The major findings of the investigation were reported in seven scientific journals. Three articles were published in journals on the list recommended by the Committee on the Control of Education RK, three articles were presented at foreign international conferences, and one article was published in a SCOPUS database journal. The dissertation paper was considered at a meeting at Kazakh Linguistics Department of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University on March 6, 2024, and submitted for defense. Scope and the structure of the research work. The introduction part includes the relevance, purpose, and objectives of the research work, the object of research, the subject of research, the theoretical and practical significance of the research, research methods, the scientific novelty, the main conclusions proposed for defense, and the publication and approval of the research work. The first three chapters of the thesis "The Language of Social Networks in the Framework of Modern Scientific Paradigms" are comprised. The chapter examines the study of the internet language and the fact that it is a unique kind of communication. Currently, a unique communicative environment - the internet - is the focus of research in a variety of scientific disciplines. Specifically: 1) as a new information space; 2) as an independent communication institution produced by internet technology; 3) in accordance with virtualization theory; 4) based on postmodern concepts of knowledge and social understanding; and 5) in relation to modern globalization ideals. The second chapter is titled "Linguistic aspects of social network language". The chapter consists of four chapters. The linguistic specificity of the network's language is shown in the assimilation of two modes of language communication - oral and written - as well as in the general linguistic nature appropriate to internet communication. As a result, the primary characteristics of the network language include 1) colloquialism; 2) expressiveness; 3) multicodicity; 4) vulgarity and cheapness of speech (swallowing); and multilingualism. Each of these signals is discussed separately throughout the chapter. The pragmatic component of social networks is directly linked to the opportunities that the network provides its participants. This chapter distinguishes four major strategic areas of speech activity based on the nature of the implementation of communication channels in social networks: 1) Communication; 2) Information; 3) Coordination; and 4) Emotion. The active usage of the internet and social networks in modern culture has shaped the network universe concept (NUC). The NUC is mirrored in the network's content and the fundamental principles that comprise it. Lexical units in the Kazakh language are changing, acquiring a "network" aspect through semantic growth. To illustrate such meaning modifications, let us use the phrase "dos" (friend). The introduction of the words "dostik" (friendship) and "dostasu" (making friends) on the internet has increased both the core definition of this word and its ability to combine. On the internet, the word dos (a friend) has changed from meaning "confidant, comrade, close person" to "a union of interested people, people with common interests". If the term "sirlas" (close person) refers to people you know well, the term "dostik" refers to members of a specific online group. The internet categorizes friendship as follows: "best friends", "relatives", "colleagues", "school friends", and "university friends". There is an option to sort "Friends" on the network, and you can add them to the "Black List". In response, new terms have emerged, including dostyqqa qosu (adding to friends), dostyq qabyldau (accepting friendship), dostyqty joiu (deleting friendship), dostyqtan bas tartu (canceling friendship), mümkın dostar (probably friends), jelıdegı dostyq (online friendship), dostyqtan şyğaru (removing friendship), dostyqqa sūranu (asking for friendship), dostyqqa şekteu qoiu (limiting friends), and so on. In these statements, we can see that the concept of "close person" in the meaning of the word friend has been abandoned, and it has taken on a new dimension as emotionally constrained. The online "dostik" friendship has become impersonal, adopting the values such as "source of information", "contact", "interesting page", and "link". “Linguistic-nonverbal transformation of the language of the social network”. The third chapter describes the evolution and alteration of the social network's language in linguistic and nonverbal dimensions. Today, the rapid integration of social networks into our daily lives has expanded nonverbal practices in internet communication, and the language of social networks has become more visually and content-oriented. The major shift of the internet toward nonverbal is marked by the rise of emoticons, graphic and Creole as a form of marking, emoticons and stickers, demotivators, internet memes, cartoons, and so on. Emoticons and stickers are employed as an intrinsic part of the social network, rotating between linguistic and parathyroid units. Internet memes appeared when the internet's genre structures became more complicated and developed. They differ from other nonverbal means in terms of semantic richness and expressiveness. Internet memes are a cultural code that manifests itself in linguistic and nonverbal form in the language of the social network, reflects Life/Network behavior for the social network's community of internet users, and aims to quickly transform individual communicative presuppositions into Creole and textual forms.
