Honored Performer of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maira Ilyassova is visiting ENU
The Honored Performer of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maira Ilyassova visited the Eurasian National University at students’ invitation.
The famous singer met with students and teachers and answered their questions.
During the greeting of the guest of honor, ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov noted that the event was organized on the initiative of ENU students.
“Maira Ilyassova’s repertoire is full of Kazakh national flavor. In each song, the performer celebrates cultural values, moral qualities, ethical ideals, love for her native land and people. Her contribution to the development of our society and the education of the younger generation is invaluable,” the scientist noted.
By the decision of the Scientific Council of the university, ENU rector awarded the people’s favorite with Kultegin Medal.
During the meeting, Maira Ilyassova spoke on her professional development and shared bright moments from her student life.
“I was a rather strict group leader. If students from my group were late for their classes, I personally woke everyone up and sent them to university. For five whole years during my entire studies, I was lucky enough to be a group leader. Now we are friends with our classmates. Each of them has achieved success in their creative activities,” the guest shared.
Maira Ilyassova also said that she became recognizable thanks to the folk works “Yerkem-ai” and “Darkhan-ai”.
At the end of the warm meeting, the performer sang people’s favorite works and presented the students who answered her questions correctly with tickets to their next concert.
