News from Nazarbayev Intellectual School

My vocation is a teacher,
To give all my soul to children,
And no matter how many roads there are,
Mine is the most important one in the world!
(E. Mikhailova)
Admittedly, having received the distribution in this educational institution, we experienced excitement, because it is known that students for admission to it pass a serious selection and are engaged in a special, in-depth program.
Our mentors were experienced teachers of Russian language and literature Saule Kabdushevna Makhambetova and Amangul Mazhaovna Abdinasirova, who are in love with their work and mentees. Having warmly welcomed future colleagues, they introduced us into the school world, consisting of students, lessons for them and lesson plans, extracurricular activities, conversations, instructions, explanations....
After a short passive practice we were entrusted to teach Russian language and literature lessons in grades 7 and 8. The first independent lesson and the amount of responsibility made us remember the lines:
О, сорок пять минут урока!
О, радость полной тишины!
Когда, распахнуты широко,
Глаза к тебе устремлены!
(С. Викулов)
Each lesson was developed with mentors, taking their advice and recommendations, and then analyzed in detail, analyzing all the minuses and pluses. It was pleasant to feel feedback, the students, as if supporting us, were active, and they reacted especially vividly when we used interactive teaching methods and information and communication technologies.
In the framework of the developed program the first lesson for 7 "B" and 7 "D" classes we - Amurtayeva Dilnaz and Kuzbayeva Umit, taught lessons on the theme "Characterization of the heroes of the story "The Night Before Christmas" by N.V. Gogol.
Pupils worked on the system of characters of the work, identifying the character and artistic means of their embodiment. Of course, it was important to discuss the common features of the characters of the main characters - Vakula and Oksana.

Next, we offered them to conduct a small role play where they got into the roles of the characters and tried to solve stage situations by analyzing them by character. This gave them an opportunity not only to deepen their understanding of the characters, but also to develop empathy and analytical thinking skills.
We finished the lesson with a creative assignment - creating their own descriptions of characters that could be encountered in the continuation of the story. Of course, the children showed their imagination and creativity, active and engaged in the learning process, they shared interesting thoughts and interpretations. This kind of interaction with the class brought us joy and a sense of fulfillment. We, as novice teachers, realized how important it is to engage students in the learning process and use a variety of teaching methods.

I - Alexandra Basina, taught my first lesson in the 8 "B" class on the story "Dominoes of Mercy for Animals" by Canadian writer Ernest Thompson. Introducing teenagers into the atmosphere of the fiction world of the writer-naturalist, where the dominant is the understanding of the relationship between man and nature, I tried to improve the skills of analyzing the supporting episodes of the work of fiction. A high degree of attentiveness and initiative of the students was noticeable. In the process of reading the text, we actively discussed its content, conducted group work with a focus on text learning, retelling and analyzing the plot. |
Also taught a lesson on "Cloning: benefits and harms, whether to revive dinosaurs and mammoths", including an analysis of the trailer of the movie "Jurassic Park". Students discussed intonation and emotional coloring in audio stories, bringing up the issues of cloning and the possibility of reviving ancient species. In the process of working with the text about cloning, they exchanged questions and self-rated their knowledge according to the proposed criteria.
After the lessons were over, Amangul Mazhaovna analyzed them, not only pointing out my flaws, but also noting my "achievements," inspiring me.
She suggested how to interact effectively with students and improve my teaching methodology.
Despite the physical and mathematical orientation of the school, the Decade of Russian Language and Literature was announced from February 5 to 15. With supervisors S.K. Makhambetova and A.M. Abdinasirova and teachers of methodical association we actively participate in the organization and carrying out of this important and necessary event. We prepared the opening script, a large number of interesting quizzes, contests, games and meetings.
