“Plant tissues” - an open lesson at the Department of General Biology and Genomics

February 16, 2024 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU an open lesson with students of group Bg-17, specialty “6B05107-Biology” in the subject “Botany” on the topic “Plant Tissues was conducted by Gulshat Ataeva, candidate of biological sciences, associate professor of the Department of general biology and genomics.

The open lesson was conducted using modern new techniques. First, the trainees were divided into three groups using Wasserman’s special technology and assigned a specific task. At a specially designated time, students defended their assignments on the board with a poster and presentation using the time management method. The lesson used critical thinking technologies, associogram, smart goal, case study, project method, blitz test, and video.
Then the lesson continued with an explanation of the theoretical material “Types and classification of plant tissues,” and then the students began laboratory work.

      Based on the results of the open lesson, the results were determined by the “Reflection” method. Students were assessed using B. Bloom's taxonomy. And the most important thing is that the students used new methods and tested them in practice.
