The Author of the Atlas Book on the Statehood of Kazakhstan Delivered a Lecture to the Officers of the State Security Service

Director of the ENU Institute of Modern Studies, Doctor of Political Science, Professor Mukhit-Ardager Sydyknazarov held an open lecture for officers and employees of the State Security Service based on his book with the identical title “Continuous Statehood of Kazakhstan in the Flow of History. The Kazakh State on European and American Maps of the XVI-XIX centuries”.

As the lecturer noted, he devoted more than 17 years to searching around the world for ancient maps showing the Kazakh state. During the search, he found 300 medieval maps depicting the Kazakh state in Europe and the United States.
“Maps are one of the most significant sources confirming that modern Kazakhstan as a state has a very strong, long-standing and continuous history of statehood. This is exactly what the exhibits of ancient maps confirm, because they depict Kazakhstan as it was seen by representatives of other states,” Mukhit-Ardager Sydyknazarov said.
The atlas book "Continuous Statehood of Kazakhstan in the Flow of History. The Kazakh State on European and American Maps of the XVI-XIX centuries” contains previously unknown data on over 2000 ancient European and American maps depicting the Kazakh state of the XV-XIX centuries, new written historical sources and an array of new scientific data for further fundamental and applied sciences.
Sydyknazarov’s work contains 130 maps, which clearly indicate the Kazakh statehood from 1562 to 1879. Its weight is 6 kg.
The research and discoveries of the ENU scientist once and for all close the issue of the evidence of Kazakh statehood, far-fetched by politicians of a number of countries, through unprecedented cartographic material, which is considered the most valuable written source in the scientific world.
The first reader of the book was the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who praised the book, the author, and recommended organizing exhibitions, galleries in all regions of the republic, as well as at international events. The Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek highly appreciated M.A. Sydyknazarov’s unique work and noted that the time has come to introduce and study cartography in educational institutions. ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov was one of the first to support the innovator, a unique scientist and organized the opening of a gallery of European and American maps of the Kazakh state of the XV-XIX centuries at the university.”
The university staff also highly appreciated the work of their colleague. As a sign of support, they hold presentations and lectures at faculties, schools, and various organizations.
At the end of the lecture, the head of the State Security Staff of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Major General Saken Isabekov presented Letters of Thanks to Professor Mukhit-Ardager Sydyknazarov, his assistant, employee of the Science Department Saltanat Sydyknazarova and the organizer of the lecture, Chairman of the Veterans Council Kulzira Iskakova.
