
ENU will join the Kazakh-American consortium of universities

The application of the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University for inclusion in the Kazakh-American consortium of Universities within the framework of the partnership program sponsored by the US Embassy in Kazakhstan and administered by the IIE – Step Global Education Foundation has been successfully completed.
The purpose of the consortium is to strengthen existing ties and promote a new strategic partnership between the U.S. and Kazakh institutions through the development of an innovative consortium and a community of practitioners. The consortium includes various higher education institutions in the United States and Kazakhstan, which participate in a year-long virtual training program to create sustainable partnerships in areas of study critical to the U.S. and Kazakhstan economies and the higher education sector, including renewable energy, environmental science, agriculture, food security and STEM. Consortium members will also have access to strategic planning support, individual mentoring, virtual and face-to-face meetings.
It should be recalled that ENU currently cooperates with 12 universities in the USA. Among them are Pennsylvania State University, California State University Northridge, University of Massachusetts Lowell, University of Eastern Washington, State University of New York at Binghamton, University of Washington, Wayne State University, University of Albany, University of Texas at San Antonio, University of Central Florida, University of Arizona, University of Minnesota Duluth.
In 2023, together with the University of Arizona, ENU held a summer school on the study abroad program for 11 participants in the study of Russian and Kazakh languages.
As part of academic mobility, 69 students have studied in the United States since 2013: Pittsburgh State University, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, University of Louisville, Humboldt State University, Tennessee Technological University.
Since 2021, ENU has won grants for 2 projects under the Central Asian University Partnership (UNICEN) Program "Joint Research for Feasibility Studies" and "Optimization Modeling of Future Wind Energy Sources in Central Kazakhstan" and "Renewable Energy Sources and Climate Change".
Since 2015, 24 specialists from such US universities as the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the University of Akron, the University of Delaware, the University of Texas Grande Valley, Georgetown University, Binghamton University, Nadson University, Pace University, the University of South Carolina, Wayne State University, Columbia University, the Technological University of General Tourism, University of Central Florida have taught at ENU faculties. Doctoral students of the faculties are advised by 10 foreign scientific consultants from universities such as the University of Louisville, the University of Connecticut, and the University of Minnesota.
In the last two years, a professor has been recruited at the Faculty of Philology under the program of the Regional Office of the English Language of the US Embassy to teach at universities in Kazakhstan (English Fellow Program). At the moment, a PhD doctoral student from the University of California at Berkeley is arriving to conduct research at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
In addition, 8 professors and scientists received a scholarship under the Bolashaq program in 2023 at the following universities in the USA: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Michigan, Washington State University, George Washington University. According to the 500 Scientists program, 9 professors also had the opportunity to study at educational institutions in the USA: George Washington University, University of Illinois, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, New York Film Academy, Harvard University.
