ENU is developing an application for foreigners to study Kazakh
Assyltas Kaltenova, a doctoral student at the Eurasian National University, is performing a project to develop “SANA” application, which will help foreigners learn Kazakh.
The unique application will feature dialogues in Kazakh for everyday use and grammatical additions to them. The project is funded by a grant from L.N. Gumilyov ENU "Jana Asu". The developers plan to complete work on the application next year.
"There are many foreigners in Kazakhstan who want to learn to speak Kazakh, but unfortunately, there are few high-quality web resources and applications on our market. The existing ones explain only Kazakh grammar and vocabulary, but there are no practical words, phrases, dialogues. That's why I thought about creating such an application. My goal is to bring Kazakh to the international level, and I believe that such applications will help popularize our language among foreign guests," Assyltas Kaltenova notes.
Now developers are creating a prototype of a mobile application and complex dialogues. The program will include audio guides containing grammatical and lexical explanations. The mobile app will be available for Android and iOS users.
