Scientific consultations from Professor at the Warsaw Polytechnic University
In the period from April 10-12, 2024, the foreign scientific advisor - Professor of Warsaw Polytechnic University of Poland Ph.D Agnieszka Dabska conducted a series of scientific consultations with the PhD student of the Department of Civil Engineering Kusbergenova Zh.
The topic of PhD student's research is aimed at the study of soil reinforcement methods and the assessment of their applicability. Thus, when constructing buildings and structures on weak soils, the problem of insufficient bearing capacity and high deformability inevitably arises. Artificial ground consolidation - impact on the soil through various constructive and technological measures, which increases its bearing capacity and reduces deformations, is an actual method today.
During scientific consultations, a plan of experimental research, and a plan of PhD student internship was developed.
It should be noted that the arrival of Ph.D Agnieszka Dabska is connected with the invitation to Shakarim University, where she gave a course of lectures to students of the Department of Civil Engineering. Today PhD Agnieszka Dabska is one of the leading international specialists studying hydraulic engineering, geotechnics, foundations, and bases of buildings and structures.
At the end of the meeting together with the domestic scientific supervisor Ph.D Tulebekova A.S. discussed the issues of publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Along with this, Prof. A. Dabska invited the scientists of the Department of "Civil Engineering" to take part in the international conference on the protection of dams and hydraulic structures from floods, which will be held in 2025 in Poland.
