ENU hosted the Forum of Scientists of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan
The L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted a Forum of Scientists “Prospects for the Development of Science in Solving Urgent Problems of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan”. It was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Science and Higher Education, academies of sciences, universities, research institutes, leading and young scientists.
Speaking with a welcoming speech, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki noted that the forum of scientists of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will strengthen cooperation and exchange of experience between the scientific communities of both countries.
“The purpose of the forum is to promote the development of science, technology and education in the region, the exchange of knowledge and experience between scientists and scientific institutions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as to create a platform for active discussion of topical scientific issues and initiatives. The event held today will enhance cooperation between scientists of the both countries within the framework of joint research projects, support young scientists, stimulate their participation in scientific events and research programs, as well as form partnerships between educational institutions and scientific institutes of both countries for the development of education and science,” Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki said.
The Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan also told his Kyrgyz colleagues that Kazakhstan has approved the Concept of Development of Higher Education and Science in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029, and purposeful work is being carried out to gradually increase funding for science.
The Kyrgyz delegation at the forum was headed by the Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Dogdurkul Kendirbayeva.
“Today, science has no borders, and there are many consonant topics that our scientists can discuss together, raise urgent problems that require solutions. The current forum will create a single platform for scientists from both countries who will be able to share scientific research, as well as accumulated experience in a particular field,” the Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan noted.
Issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in the field of education within the framework of academic mobility, training of scientific personnel, commercialization of technologies, scientific cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, etc. were discussed at the forum.
The report of the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Science under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maksat Zhabagin on the topic “Genetic Relationship Between Populations of Kazakhs and Kyrgyz according to Y-chromosome Polymorphism” aroused great interest among the forum participants.
Reports from other forum participants were also presented.
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
