Research scientist from Purdue University (USA), Dr. Raikhan Tokpatayeva, visited the Geotechnical Institute, ENU-Lab facilities, and KGS-Astana LLP

The director of the Geotechnical Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Construction, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Askar Zhussupbekov, hosted a research scientist from Purdue University (USA), Dr. Raikhan Tokpatayeva, to develop international scientific cooperation, exchange experiences, and discuss collaboration prospects in construction area to strengthen scientific connections.

As part of the visit, Dr. Raikhan Tokpatayeva and representatives of the laboratory visited the Geotechnical Institute, ENU-Lab facilities, and KGS-Astana LLP. During the visit, employees of the mentioned organizations provided a tour on laboratory facilities and showcased equipment and research work areas, as well as briefly described ongoing scientific research, equipment operation systems, and methods used.

In particular, at the Geotechnical Institute, equipment for studying the physical and mechanical properties of soils and modeling geotechnical structures was demonstrated. At the ENU-Lab, laboratories for studying soils, construction materials, and structures were exhibited as well. At KGS-Astana LLP, laboratories for studying the operation of piles in complex soil environment were shown. Dr. Raikhan Tokpatayeva expressed her readiness to actively participate in the development of scientific research in construction ares in Kazakhstan, including participation in educational programs. Her presence at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University may be significantly helpful for students, faculty, and the overall scientific research community, as she is willing to share her knowledge and experience with us and take part in joint research projects.
