
ENU and the Open University Malaysia are establishing business ties
A meeting with the delegation of the Open University Malaysia took place at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The purpose of the visit was to discuss the possibilities of expanding scientific and educational cooperation between the two leading universities.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two universities in the framework of academic mobility, exchange of professors, double degree programs and the opening of the center for Malaysian culture at ENU were discussed. The parties also agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two universities in the future.
As noted by the ENU Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Duman Aitmagambetov, the two leading universities of Kazakhstan and Malaysia have great prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.
"We are cooperating with 7 universities of Malaysia. The cooperation is implemented within the framework of inviting foreign experts from Malaysia to teach at ENU. Professors are recruited annually to lecture and advise doctoral students from the University of Technology Malaysia, the University of Putra. So, since 2022, 3 foreign experts have been invited. Since 2013, 18 students have traveled to universities in Malaysia for academic mobility. In 2023, together with the University Malaysia Kelantan, an agreement was signed on the implementation of a dual MBA program. We are ready to further develop our cooperation," D. Aitmagambetov stressed.
In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor of the Open University Malaysia Ahmad Izanee expressed his admiration for the Museum of the History of the Writing History, noting that it feels inextricably linked with centuries. He also added that today there are a lot of opportunities for all universities to work together, this is a great potential for cooperation.
Ahmad Izanee also spoke about the activities of Open University Malaysia (OUM), which is the 7th private university in Malaysia.
"Today, our university has more than 100,000 students enrolled in more than 50 academic programs. In 2023, QS Stars awarded OUM a 5-star ranking after evaluating the quality of online learning for three years.
OUM has 4 faculties: Business and Management, Technology and Applied Sciences, Philology, as well as Social Sciences and Humanities," the Vice-Chancellor of the Open University Malaysia shared.

Interuniversity University of Malaya-Wales (until 2025;
Pahang University (2019-2029);
Putra University Malaysia (2022-2032);
University Malaya(2023-2028);
Mara University Technology (2023-2026);
University Malaysia Kelantan);
City University Malaysia (2023-2033).
