The Eurasian National University hosted the First Republican Robotics Festival "RoboZerde-2024" named after Alikhan Maksut. The festival was attended by about 200 students from schools of 17 regions and 3 cities of Kazakhstan, as well as citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was attended by scientists, government and public figures and artists, journalists and bloggers. ENU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ardak Beisenbai, Executive Secretary of the Amanat Party Daulet Karibek, Head of the Astana Department of Education Kasymkhan Sengaziyev, representative of the Scientific and Practical Center "Daryn" Sairan Bakhtiyar, Acting Director of the Center for Identification and Support of Gifted Children and Talented Youth "Astana Daryn" Zhanar Beisenbayeva, Director of the schools of robotics "Robotek" Sanzhar Shalkarbek, etc.
"The purpose of the festival is to increase the interest of schoolchildren in robotics, develop scientific and technical skills and the ability to work with technology. Robotics is a tool of the modern day. Now robotics is being mastered not only by scientists, but also by schoolchildren. Robotics is an industry that is only developing in Kazakhstan and current schoolchildren will undoubtedly be highly demanded specialists in the future," Ardak Beisenbai said, addressing the participants.
The festival, organized by ENU, the scientific and practical center "Daryn", the Republican Scientific and Specialized Lyceum No. 9 "Zerde" of Astana akimat, the school of robotics "Robotek", the school of robotics "Mars Robotics" and the Alikhan Maksut Foundation for the Support of Gifted Children, will be held annually in May.
"The future belongs to artificial intelligence, robotics and creativity. We must focus on the creation of new technologies in Kazakhstan. The Head of State constantly highlights this. The country pays special attention to digitalization. The national concept of digitalization has been adopted. The main goal of the festival is to discover new talents and support them at the national level," Daulet Karibek, Executive Secretary of the “Amanat” party said.
Serikzat Duisengazin, Head of ENU Television and Public Relations Department, noted that the purpose of the festival is to popularize the lifestyle of the talented student, winner of international, republican olympiads in the field of robotics Alikhan Maksut, who passed away early in life, to support future technical specialists, and to promote innovative projects of schoolchildren.
A participant of the festival, a student of the S.Seifullin Gymnasium No. 80 Akbota Melis is one of the authors of the “Smart Socket” project.
"The Smart Socket” project is designed for use in smart homes. This innovation consumes less energy, the outlet can be controlled via a telegram bot, wi-fi and Bluetooth. It took 2 years to produce this project. Before that, we had already participated in the city olympiads "RoboZerde", the participant said.
The festival was held in 2 directions - "RoboSport" and "Creative Project". The direction "RoboSport" includes categories "Tug of War", "Game of Asyks", "Shooter" and "Aksuyek".
As part of the festival, the participants could watch a documentary film directed by Murat Yeszhan "Alikhan's Dream", dedicated to Alikhan Maksut.
