The Targeted Financing Program (TFP) for Central Asian Universities

On May 6, 2024, Ospanova A.N. held an event on the topic: "Experience in Participating in the Targeted Financing Program (TFP) for Cooperation between Central Asian Universities". During the lecture, the following issues were addressed:
- What is the Targeted Financing Program?
- Who are the subjects of scientific and (or) scientific-technical activities – individuals and legal entities engaged in scientific and (or) scientific-technical activities?
Ospanova A.N. explained that the National Scientific Council (NSC) considers targeted programs proposed for implementation on a competitive basis, as well as programs proposed for financing outside of competitive procedures for applied scientific research in the field of national security and defense, containing state secrets.
Additionally, she discussed the conclusions of the State Scientific and Technical Expertise (GSTE), which include an assessment of the economic feasibility of the presented projects. Based on this assessment, the NSC determines the forms and volumes of financing allocated for scientific research or refuses financing, indicating the corresponding amounts.
The event attracted great interest from participants, who actively discussed the presented topics, asked questions, and shared their experiences. In conclusion, Ospanova A.N. emphasized the importance of international cooperation within the framework of the Targeted Financing Program to strengthen the scientific potential of Central Asian universities and create sustainable partnerships to address the region's current scientific and technical challenges.
