Domestic and foreign experts discussed issues of promoting the «green» direction in educational institutions at ENU

In accordance with the goals of sustainable development Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev took an active course in promoting the green status. In this regard, the university has already started implementing a policy plan in the field of “Sustainable Development”. As part of this, one of the first events is the International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Path to Green Status: Experience of Schools, Colleges and Universities", organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences.

This event was held on May 17-18 alongside with other interested organizations in a network partnership (within the framework of the scientific project “Model “green school - green college - green university” as a system for the development of greening of education”, leading by the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Dlimbetova G.K.). The conference was a platform for discussion between representatives of different countries on promoting green trends in educational institutions for sustainable development. Over the course of two days, a scientific and pedagogical exchange of Kazakh and foreign scientists, practitioners, employers, stakeholders, non-governmental organizations on the trend of environmental education and eco-volunteer practice of youth took place at the international conference. There were presented about 100 reports, various trainings with eco-ideas, and eco-video materials.

We express our deep gratitude to our local partners and partners from the UK, Poland, China, Slovakia, South Africa, Nigeria, Abkhazia, Mongolia, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries for expressing their constant interest in our events on the topic of sustainable development, conducted on the basis of our university.

We hope that thanks to such events, our position in the world ranking will rise to a significant level in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals!
