
Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dinara Shcheglova got acquainted with ENU’s digital transformation
The Eurasian National University was visited by Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dinara Shcheglova, as well as representatives of the Ministry.
During the meeting, ENU Vice-Rector for Digitalization – Digital Officer Gulmira Bekmanova and employees of the Digital Development and Distance Learning Department demonstrated to the delegates the TriCaster software and hardware complex and the studio where online courses are recorded and prepared.
During her opening speech, Dinara Shcheglova noted that the Ministry listens to universities that train IT personnel.
During the meeting, Vice-Rector Gulmira Bekmanova made a presentation on the ENU digital ecosystem, which includes such projects as Platonus, Directum, Anti-Plagiarism, Hikvision, Proctoring, MOOC.enu.kz , SmartENU.
"Since 2021, the university has had a concept of a digital ecosystem. Now the document management system covers about 80% of our requirements. Smart ENU is a large system that consists of a website and a mobile application. Its peculiarity is that all data is entered only once and displayed on all systems at once. Every year we used to spend 20 million KZT on printing documents. We have not had a paper syllabus for 3 years, most of the documents are signed via QR.
The total savings of the university on the use of the digital ecosystem amounted to 1 billion KZT," the university Digital Officer said.
Gulmira Bekmanova also demonstrated services for students and talked about future projects about the Meta Universe, the digital project learning platform and others.
Also, the manager of the digital development sector Altynbek Zulkhazhav demonstrated the SmartENU system, the head of the Artificial Intelligence Technologies Department Bibigul Razakhova introduced artificial intelligence technologies, Deputy Director of the Digital Development and Online Learning Department Banu Yergesh showed the Akhmettanu system, Director of the “Artificial Intelligence” Research Institute Alibek Barlybayev introduced the СHATGPT program in Kazakh, and Nurzada Amangeldy, senior lecturer of the Artificial Intelligence Technologies Department, demonstrated the innovative SIGNBRIDGE project for hard of hearing and inaudible people and an intelligent system for detecting personal protective equipment using computer vision technologies for industrial enterprises.
