Postdoctoral fellow Tolganai Mustafina held a meeting to discuss the transformation of spiritual values in Kazakh society

In the modern world and in the Kazakh context in particular, interest in religious life and religious practices has been growing lately. According to various studies, today 80-90% of the citizens of the republic consider themselves religious with varying degrees of involvement in religious practices. Most of them are those who consider themselves Muslims. Most of the modern Kazakh society is characterized by a harmonious combination of the principles of secularism, democratic values and personal religious preferences. At the same time, the influence of destructive ideologies hiding behind religious rhetoric is actively spreading throughout the world today. Persons of different status, age, etc. may be negatively influenced by such ideologies.
On May 18 and May 23, 2024, as part of the project on the transformation of humanistic values in modern Kazakh society, postdoctoral fellow Tolganai Mustafina held meetings with military personnel of the military units of the Astana City garrison. During the meetings, the signs peculiar to radical religious movements were discussed, which have a negative impact on the ideological orientations of the person himself, as well as on his environment and on the stability of society as a whole.
Today, Kazakh society has the necessary mechanisms for obtaining knowledge in the field of religion, meeting religious needs.
