Report on the scientific work of doctoral student Kabdyrova L.T.

Doctoral student of the department “TPGS” of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, specialty 8D07361 “Production of building materials, products and structures” Kabdyrova L.T. made a report on her scientific work on the topic: “Evaluation of ice-phobizing composition of cement-concrete roads on water absorption” in front of 10 students. Kabdyrova L.T. conducted a set of laboratory tests to assess the optimal concentration of acrylic latex in water solution.
Since the ice-phobizing composition allows to significantly reduce the adhesion resistance of ice crust and its resistance to mechanical impact of vehicle wheels. Consequently, when driving a motor vehicle on a solid ice surface, the ice, deprived of adhesion with concrete, will show its brittleness and consequently collapse.
Ice-phobizing composition on aqueous solution was applied by evaluating the water absorption of the samples. Laboratory tests were carried out on representative samples in accordance with the requirements of GOST 10180, a total of 5 impregnated and 5 unimpregnated samples were used.
The water absorption tests of different samples with acrylic latex were carried out at the concentration of 1,2,3,4,5 %. The obtained results of water absorption of different samples by ice-phobic coating by average value showed from 1.479% to 1.747%. The applied ice-phobic coating significantly reduces the water absorption capacity, hence the obtained composition is effective.
