
ENU scientists have studied the experience of Dutch universities on sustainable development issues













Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Gaini Dlimbetova and PhD of the Faculty of Social Sciences Saulet Abenova visited The Hague University of Applied Sciences (the Hague, the Netherlands).
The purpose of the visit is to study the global role of education in the implementation of the principles of sustainable development, exchange experience in the green development of educational institutions and cooperation in the field of applied aspects of education.
Meetings were held with Jerke Verschoor, an strategic international advisor; Veronika Brantova, head of the strategic advisor & program lead sustainability and justice; Rolien Blanken, coordinator of the Mission Zero expertise center; Diederic Visser and Bernard Janssen, infrastructure management coordinators; Arno van Dijk, coordinator of the Green Office, and others.
During the visit, representatives of ENU studied the experience of Dutch universities in achieving 17 Sustainable Development Goals: issues of quality education, organization of university infrastructure, management of energy and resource conservation, conservation of water resources, waste management and transport. The Dutch colleagues were very interested in the experience of developing environmental education, the environmental volunteering club of the Faculty of Social Sciences. In order to further international cooperation, online meetings of eco-volunteers of the two universities are planned in order to share achievements on the contribution of the student community to sustainable development.
During the visit to the Netherlands, the contribution to sustainable development of the Amsterdam University (Amsterdam University) was of particular interest. The mission of the university is to combine sustainable development and all spheres of life of the student society. A meeting with representatives of the university's youth was held at one of the university campuses.
The foreign business trip took place according to the calendar plan within the framework of the scientific project «The model "green school – green college - green university" is a system for the development of ecologization of education» (head Professor G.Dlimbetova).
