ENU hosted a billiards tournament in Akseleu Seydimbek’s memory

On the eve of the Media Workers’ Day, the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University organized and hosted the traditional billiards tournament in a famous writer, journalist, public figure Akseleu Seydimbek’s memory.  Poets, writers, public figures and journalists attended it.

Rector of the L. N.Gumilev Eurasian National University Yerlan Sydykov, Koishygara Salgara, Tolen Abdik, poet Sain Nazarbayev, deputy of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurtore Zhusup, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karimbek Kurmanaliev delivered a congratulatory speech.

The traditional billiards tournament, the level and scale of which are increasing annually, was divided into two groups: “Veterans” (over 63 years old) and “Journalists” (under 63 years old).

According to the results of the tournament for the Veterans group, journalist Maksut Irzhanov was first, Bazarbek Tukibayev, a journalist of the ENU Information Center was second best, Sadibek Tugel became third and Turmagambet Kenzhebayev was forth. All of the winners were awarded a special diploma and a prize.

In the Journalists group, the first place was given to the director of the” Khabar” Agency Akhmet-Ali Sakhov, the second place went to director of the “Nur Media” holding, poet Talgat Yeshenuly, the third place was taken by the director of the “Qazaqstan” TV channel Asylkhan Manapov, the IV place went to Yerlan Omarov. They were also awarded with certificates and prizes.

In addition, there were such nominations as “Most Noble”, “Most Cultured”, “Smartest”, “Most Generous”, “Most Skillful”, “Best Shooter”, “Fastest” and “Technically Perfect”. The winners for them were Tolen Abdik, Koishigara Salgara, Sayin Nazarbek, Saulebek Zhamkenov, Nurtore Zhussip, Yerkin Kydyr, Darkhan Mynbai, Sharkhan Kazygul, Alimzhan Sabyrzhanuly, Yerbol Yerdenbek, etc.

It is worth noting that the tournament was sponsored by the trade union committee of the ENU together with the family of Axeleu Seidimbek and the organizations "Altun qyran", "Patriot", "QADAZ". The participants of the competition expressed special gratitude to the Rector of ENU Yerlan Sydykov, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science Kairat Saku, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of ENU Bakizhan Seidesh and A.Seidembek's grandchildren Asylkhan and Axeleu, thanks to whom the tournament was held at a high level.
