Graduate-2024: the sphere of Kazakhstani tourism has been replenished with new personnel

On June 24, 2024, a graduation ceremony took place at the "Rixos President Astana" 5* hotel for graduates of the Department of Tourism within the Faculty of Economics at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU).

The event was attended by university management, faculty members, representatives from JSC NC "Kazakh Tourism", the Office of Investment and Entrepreneurship Development of Astana, "Rixos President Astana" 5* Hotel, NTO "Arman Tour", LLP "Astana Development Center", and “ActiveTour” LLP. The joy of this significant moment in the lives of the graduates was shared with their parents and relatives.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, the Department of Tourism graduated a total of 134 students, including 100 undergraduates, 24 master's students, 10 doctoral students, and 8 e-MBA students. Additionally, 64 bachelor's degree students became holders of a diploma with honors. Duman Aitmagambetov, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development at ENU, congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their future endeavors. Along with diplomas, active graduates were awarded a letter of gratitude on behalf of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of ENU.

The Head of «Tourism» Department Mutalieva Lyailya Maratovna encouraged the graduates to further their education through master's and doctoral programs.

Information about the ENU Endowment fund was also provided during the event.

This year ENU for the third time entered the TOP-100 of the best universities of the world QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024 in the discipline "Hospitality and Leisure Management". According to the results of the rating of the last year "QS Stars" the subject "Hospitality and Leisure Management" of the "Tourism" Department of L.N. Gumilyov ENU received 5 stars. QS Stars is an audit of the university on a wide range of indicators in 8 different categories, according to the results of which the university is assigned stars and final points. QS Stars is a globally recognised quality mark of the university.

The university has been offering tourism and hospitality programs since 2007, with over 3,000 specialists trained to date. The department currently offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs, as well as an EMBA program since 2021.
