
ENU and Ataturk University intend to create joint educational programs and research projects
The delegation of Ataturk University headed by Rector Ömer Çomakli arrived at the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
It also included Office of International Affairs Coordinator, Taşkın Öztaş, and Vice-Coordinator for Office of International Affairs, Ali Çağlar Güllüce, and an employee of the International Relations Office responsible for the Erasmus program Pynar Ucak.
The guests from Turkey were met by ENU Acting Rector Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Ardak Beisenbai, Acting Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Raissa Kussainova, Director of the International Cooperation Department Anastasia Karmelyuk.
The parties discussed the development of relations between the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and Ataturk University.
During the meeting, Vice-Rector Ardak Beisenbai focused on the relations between the two countries and noted that the Eurasian National University actively cooperates with Turkish colleagues in the field of science and education. He also stressed the importance of expanding relations through personal contacts and expanding through the work of embassies.
“Today, ENU’s international cooperation with universities in Turkey is carried out in the areas of academic mobility, attracting professors, research internships for doctoral students, as well as on the basis of 44 contracts and agreements concluded with Turkish universities. About 400 students went to study in Turkey, and teachers from there came to our university. We have a common history, similar languages. ENU students speak Turkish well. Turkish is taught at the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Philology, and there is a Turkology Department. In the future, we intend to create education programs and research projects together with Ataturk University," Vice-Rector Ardak Beisenbai said.
In turn, Rector of Ataturk University Ömer Çomakli noted that students of their university receive education in various fields such as architecture and design, economics, natural sciences, pedagogy, agriculture, communications, medicine, dentistry, electrical engineering, currently students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, India and other countries study at their educational institution.
"Ataturk University, founded in 1957, is located in Erzurum city. It is a classical university with 23 faculties, a college, a conservatory, 8 institutes and 50 research centers and many others.
Currently, we have about 80 thousand students, including about 500 thousand in open courses, more than 3 thousand teaching staff and 10 thousand employees. Scientific directions are actively developing at the university," Rector Ömer Çomakli said.
During the meeting, Ataturk University initiated the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between our universities and invited the ENU delegation, scientists and teachers to visit their university in order to share experiences and develop joint projects.
