ENU Professor delivered a lecture at the TropICon 2024 Geotechnical conference in Malaysia

Professor of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University Askar Zhussupbekov took part in the international geotechnical conference on tropical geoengineering "TropICon 2024" in Malaysia.

Professor Askar Zhussupbekov, as an invited lecturer, familiarized the forum participants with geotechnical solutions to complex problems of interaction of pile foundations of mega-structures with complex soil bases.

Visiting Professor of the ENU, Dr. Ramli Bin Nazir, demonstrated in his lecture the main directions of research in the field of tropical soils.

Note, the International Geotechnical Conference on "Green Innovation as a Sustainable Solution for Geoengineering Issues in Tropical Regions" was held in July in Kuching (Malaysia). More than 200 participants from Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, and Australia took part.

The main organizer of this international geotechnical forum was: The Center for Tropical Geoengineering at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the scientific supervision of Visiting Professor Ramli Bin Nazir, Doctor of Technical Sciences, ENU and the Director Dr. Dayang Zulaika Abang Hasbollah.

Professor Askar Zhussupbekov invited the forum participants to take part in the international geotechnical conference on geoinformation database, which will be held in Almaty on August 28-30, 2025.
