
Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders visited ENU
Members of the Muslim Council of Elders headed by the Secretary General of the Council Mohamed Abdel-Salam visited the Eurasian National University.
The guests were met by the rector of L.N. Gumilyov ENU Yerlan Sydykov, vice-rectors, teachers and students of the university.
“Our university is one of the leaders of Kazakhstan’s higher education. According to 2022 results, the University ranks 277th in the world according to the QS rating, and is among TOP 100 best universities in Asia. We actively develop international collaboration and attract best foreign professors to the educational process. We are proud that the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar University, Mr. Ahmed El-Tayeb and the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, are ENU’s Honorary Professors and during their visits read lectures to our students.
We hope that today’s meeting will give a new impetus to the development of cooperation with our university in the field of science, education and culture,” ENU Rector said in his greeting.
In turn, Mohamed Abdel-Salam stressed the important role of universities in the history of modern humanity.
“Today, the teacher’s mission is not only to teach. The teacher’s responsibility is to engage in science and serve society. The process between knowledge and those who receive it should be based on dialogue,” the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders stressed.
The guest of honor read a lecture to ENU students and answered their questions.
Following the meeting, ENU Rector announced the decision of the Scientific Council of the university to award the title of “Honorary Professor of the L.N. Gumilev ENU” to Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Salam.
