
A record number of applicants from the country have applied for a grant at ENU



According to the results of the competition for the republican educational grant, 4,392 applicants entered the Eurasian National University, which is a record number across the country. Despite the increase in the threshold score, most of the applicants chose ENU.
This year, the most sought-after areas among applicants were pedagogical sciences, engineering, manufacturing and construction industries, as well as information and communication technologies.
For the first time this year, differentiated grants with partial tuition fees (50%) were introduced. 150 differentiated grants have been allocated in the areas of Pedagogical and Social Sciences, Journalism and Information. 68 applicants became holders of a differentiated grant (6B01 – Pedagogical Sciences – 31, 6B03 – Social Sciences, Journalism and Information – 38).
In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, young people from densely populated western and newly formed regions have not been left without attention. 5,000 targeted grants have been allocated for this purpose. Quotas for children from socially vulnerable categories are taken into account when allocating grants.
Applicants (including flooded areas) took part in the competition with one of the UNT certificates, which took place from May 16 to July 12, 2024. 2,952 applicants became holders of educational grants by general competition, 14 by international agreement.
Also, within the framework of the competition for preferential rights and benefits, the following became grant holders:
- according to the draft quota for citizens from among rural youth to study in education programs that determine the socio-economic development of the village – 316 people;
- from among the number of children from families with four or more minor children – 75 people;
- from among the number of children from families with the status of a single-parent family for at least three years – 28 people;
- from among persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 264 people;
- from among orphans and children left without parental care, as well as young people who lost their parents or were left without parental care before they reached adulthood – 22 people;
- from among persons with disabilities of I and II groups, persons with disabilities since childhood, children with disabilities – 22 people;
- from among the children from families raising disabled children from childhood, the disabled of I and II groups – 16 people;
- from among the children of employees of special state bodies and law enforcement agencies, civil protection agencies, state courier service, military personnel who died (perished) or had a disability as a result of mutilation (wounds, contusions) in the performance of official duties (including adopted sons, adopted daughters, stepsons and stepsons living together stepdaughters) – 2 people;
- from among the winners of international and national olympiads, scientific competitions, performance competitions and sports competitions – 3 people;
- according to the target grant – 203 people;
- according to the quota of emergency regions – 407 people.
The admission of applicants to universities is carried out by the admission commissions of higher educational institutions until August 25 (inclusive) 2024.
