
An Austrian writer is visiting ENU students

At the L.N. Eurasian National University students of the Faculty of Philology studying German met with the Austrian writer Markus Köhle. The meeting was organized by the Department of Foreign Philology with the participation of the Austrian Embassy in Kazakhstan.
The students were greeted by the Charge d'affaires of Austria, Mr. Harris Iqbal. He thanked the department for the opportunity to visit the L.N.Gumilyov ENU, in particular, said that the Austrian Embassy pays great attention to supporting cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Austria, spreading cultural values and familiarizing Kazakh youth with literary novelties of Austria, and studying European literature.
The Dean of the Faculty of Philology S. Duysengazy made a welcoming speech, who stressed the importance of such an event for students studying German.Meeting with the Austrian writer contributes to practical knowledge and builds communication skills in dialogue. The main guest of the event is the contemporary Austrian writer Markus Köhle, who is the winner of several literary awards, a well-known writer and poet in Europe, who actively travels abroad to meet readers, lovers and connoisseurs of author's literary work.
Markus Köhle vividly communicated with the audience, recited several of his poems by heart, interestingly presenting their content even in a playful way with the participation of students who quickly responded to the author's challenges. The students communicated with the writer with great interest, asked questions, to which Markus Kele answered with special enthusiasm. The professors of the department present noted the special style of the works, the linguistic units that are peculiar to the author and expressed gratitude for the ideas of using materials when writing scientific research. In response, Markus Köhle donated several of his books to the fund of the L.N. Gumilev German Language and Culture Center of the ENU.
