
Acting Head of the Department of International Law Akshalova R.D. took part in CACIC – 2024









From May 27 to 29, 2024, Acting Head of the Department of International Law, member of the World Commission on Environmental Law, member of the River Basin Practitioners Community of the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia, PhD Roza Dzharasovna Akshalova took part in the VI Central Asian Conference on Climate Change - 2024. The conference was aimed at reviewing and improving climate change adaptation initiatives in Central Asia, with the aim of developing and strengthening support for government and public action aimed at adapting to climate change and mitigating its consequences.
The conference addressed critical issues related to water, energy, food security and environmental sustainability in the context of Central Asian territories affected by climate factors, progress achieved by Central Asian countries in mitigating and adapting to climate change, and their reporting under the Enhanced Transparency Framework will be presented. In addition, the conference highlighted important cross-sectoral initiatives aimed at increasing resilience to climate change, exploring climate finance mechanisms and discussing platforms that promote regional and international cooperation to address climate issues.
In addition, on May 28, 2024, Akshalova R.D. took part in the NEXUS game on the interaction of food, water and energy security.
