ENU veteran teachers and young scientists met with the staff of a comfortable school in Astana

On behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a pilot national project "Comfortable School" is being implemented in the country. This project is aimed at solving three main issues: elimination of emergency schools; elimination of three-shift education; solving the problem of shortage of student places. In 2023-2024, new modern schools were built in a number of the country’s regions.

The September Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Fair Kazakhstan: Law and Order, Economic Growth, Public Optimism" from 2024 stated: "401 new schools for 842 thousand children will be built." This Address says: "in general, the trend in this direction is good, it needs to be continued." Inspired by the words of the President, the university veterans and young scientists held a meeting last week with the heads and teaching staff of comfortable school # 101, which opened in Astana. The organizer of the meeting is Zhabai Kaliyev, Director of the L. N. Gumilyov Kazakhstani-Belarusian Center for Scientific and Technical Cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by the  Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the University Kulzira Iskakova, Seitkali Duisen, senior researcher at the ‘El Tarikhy’ ENU Research Center, graduates of the Historical Faculty of the University: Sayat Nabiyev, Deputy head of the National Innovative Research Center "Bilim-Orkenieti", Kairken Adiyet, employee of the Y.Altynsarin National Academy of Education, Dauren Smagulov, senior lecturer at the Academy for Physical Training and Mass Sports, who congratulated the audience on the opening of the new school and wished creative successes to the new school.

The university scientists were met by Alma Zhumabekova, director of School No. 101, holder of the titles "Best Director of Innovative Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan", who presented the school. The school has 4,000 students, and 13 young specialist teachers (honors specialists) have been invited to the school on a competitive basis.

It should be noted that comfortable school # 101 differs from the general education one in the following: the new school is decorated in a national style (most of the teachers are also in national clothes, and the students are in white shirts and white jackets). The school is bright and spacious.

There are three gyms for different ages on the school grounds, modern computers and interactive whiteboards are installed in the classrooms. Classrooms for physics, biology, languages, etc. are equipped, which in turn will contribute to school students’ comprehensive education.

The L.N. Gumilyov ENU delegation hopes that in the future cooperation with the staff of the school # 101t will continue in scientific and educational work.
