
ENU launched an inclusive hub

The grand opening of the "Inclusion hub" coworking zone took place at the Eurasian National University, where students with special educational needs and those in need of social and psychological assistance will be able not only to receive support, but also to spend their free time, organize joint cultural and social events, seminars, trainings and much more.
The new space is also equipped with the necessary infrastructure, innovative educational, technical, and auxiliary equipment for the convenience of students.
The opening of the inclusive hub took place within the framework of the university decade "No one is on the sidelines", which is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment at the L.N.Gumilyov ENU.
The event was attended by deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament Tansaule Serikov and Dinara Naumova, the university administration, employees of the center for inclusive support, volunteers, students, teachers, etc.
ENU Vice-Rector for Sociak and Cultural Development Lyazat Tolegenkyzy stressed that the coworking center is intended not only for people with disabilities and for students with special educational needs.
"In general, it will be an island where any student, teacher, or person who is facing certain difficulties and needs social and psychological help can turn for help and support," Vice-Rector explained.
Deputy of the Mazhilis Tansaule Serikov marked the existence of an inclusive center at the university with a landmark event.
"On behalf of the inclusive Parliament, please accept our sincere congratulations. This is important for us. This is the future of Kazakhstan, these are the future people who will come to the walls of Parliament and government after us. In order for them to appear there, we must train highly qualified specialists," the Majilisman stressed.
His colleague, deputy Dinara Naumova, noted that education is an important chain of personality building.
"ENU has taken the main direction of building this work. I wish you success, I wish you not to lower the high bar. ENU is one of the first always and everywhere. We see and celebrate this. Our task is to work out further steps so that it is easy for the younger generation, people with disabilities," the speaker said.
According to the head of the ENU Inclusive Support Center, Aknur Mazhitova, the coworking zone "Inclusion hub" works in several directions.
"There are areas for training, recreation and meetings. In coworking, students will be able not only to gain knowledge, but also to develop in a social direction by participating in trainings, seminars, and various projects," the lady explained.
During the event, students expressed their gratitude, in particular, Ruslan Yerzhanov, a first-year student of the Faculty of History, expressed his opinion by his own poems.
Special attention was paid to the students - volunteers of the ENU Komek club for their assistance in the formation of an inclusive culture. They were given letters of thanks.
It is worth noting that 175 students are currently studying at ENU as part of the inclusive education program. By the decision of ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov, ENU approved a Roadmap for the development of inclusive education for 2023-2025. For this purpose, there operates an Inclusive Support Center, which oversees the development of educational programs, textbooks and many other areas.
