All deputies are visiting us: ENU hosted a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University hosted a scientific and practical conference “Strong Maslikhats – Main Institute of Public Administration and Self-Government” dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Deputies of all convocations took part in it.

Welcoming the participants of the conference, ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov outlined the agenda – the role of maslikhats in the sustainable development of regions and local government

“Today we will be discussing the important role of maslikhats as a key element of local governance. Strong maslikhats are not only a support for the regions, but also an important factor in the stable development of the country. Experts from various fields gathered in this hall, ready to offer solutions to strengthen local governance. Our discussions will help to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing the local authorities,” Ye.Sydykov wished the conference participants productive work and fruitful discussions.

Congratulating colleagues on the 30th anniversary of the maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the chairman of the maslikhat of Astana Yerlan Kanalimov spoke about the results of the work of the local representative body elected by the population:

“Our priority task is to make the life of the country comfortable and safe, for this active cooperation with all government agencies has been established. Maslikhats accept citizens’ appeals and promptly respond to them. I hope this year was remembered primarily for useful activities for residents of the capital and the whole country.”

According to the moderator of the event, ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov, the capital’s maslikhat received video greetings from different countries. Greetings from Morocco, the Russian Federation – from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Sakha, as well as from colleagues from the United Arab Emirates were presented to the participants of the conference.  

Video congratulations of the ex-akims of the capital Adilbek Dzhaksybekov, Bakhyt Sultanov and Altai Kulginov were also voiced.                

A congratulatory letter on behalf of the Akim of Astana Zhenis Kasymbek was read by Deputy Akim of the capital Yeset Baiken.

The Chairman of the republican public association “Association of Deputies of Maslikhats of Kazakhstan” Toleubek Mukashev, Vice Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Omarbekov, Head of the Institute of State and Local Government Abiken Toktybekov, deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Marat Bashimov, member of the Public Council of Astana Sapar Akhmetov and others also spoke at the conference.

Within the framework of the conference a number of deputies of the maslikhat of Astana I-VIII were awarded Letters of Commendation  and Letters of Gratitude of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Letter of Commendation  of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, badges “Yenbek Ardageri”, “Ekologiya salasynyn uzdigi”, “Yenbek Sinirgen Energetik”, “For contribution to the fight against drug addiction and drug crime”, Letters of Gratitude of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, departmental awards and badges “Honorary Deputy of the Maslikhats of Kazakhstan” as well as deputies of the maslikhat of Astana of convocations I–VIII.”

An exhibition of archival photographs and documents was organized for the guests of the event.

At the end of the conference, the opening of the alley “30 years of Astana Maslikhat” and the planting of tree seedlings took place in the park on Mangilik Yel Ave., 36.
