"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in an interview with Yegemen Kazakhstan newspaper and in his speech at the National Kurultai, noted that this year marks the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Ulus of Jochi (Great Steppe). In this regard, it was noted that it is necessary to conduct large-scale research to establish historical justice through a new understanding and promotion of the roots of the civilization of the Great Steppe and the Kazakh statehood.
The period of the Jochi Ulus plays an important role in considering the issues of Kazakh statehood, since the Kazakh state is considered its direct successor. It is gratifying that today the leading scientific institutions and universities of the republic, as well as foreign scientists, are actively participating in this forum.
I am sure that the conference will also address topical issues of Professor Satai Syzdykov's work on the study of the history and culture of the Karlyk and Karakhan states of the Turkic era, which are one of the origins of the Kazakh statehood," Rector Yerlan Sydykov said.
He also presented congratulations of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek to the hero of the day.
During the conference, a presentation of a 4-volume collection of selected works by historian Satai Syzdykov "Kazylyk", as well as an exhibition of the ENU Scientific Library, took place.
"I am grateful to the management and staff of the university for organizing the International Scientific and Theoretical Conference "Kazakh Statehood: Origins, Historical Continuity and Evolution", dedicated to my anniversary, and awarding me with the medal "Kultegin”. For me, this is a high assessment of my work," Professor Satai Syzdykov said in his closing speech.
