ENU student Akyerke Rakhmanberdy – a world champion in belt wrestling

Akyerke Rakhmanberdy, a first-year student of the Physical Training and Sports Department of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, won the World Belt Wrestling Championship in Kazan.

Akyerke beat rivals from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia in the 63 kg weight category.

"This championship was a success for me. I approach every competition with full responsibility. I aim to actively work on myself, because there are a lot of competitions ahead. I thank my coaches!" - the champion says.
