Professional Development Courses for University Librarians in the Academic Library

From the 4th to the 15th of November in the Academic Library were held professional training courses "Library in the modern educational and research environment of the university" for the staff of university libraries in the online and offline format. The course is organized by the Institute of Advanced Training and Further Education of L.N. Gumilyov ENU in cooperation with the academic library.

Within the framework of the program participants for 72 hours of intensive training combined lectures and practical training, these are employees of university libraries from the cities of Semei, Kostanai, Astana.

The course program included relevant topics related to teaching, learning and research activities. During two weeks the participants got acquainted with modern forms of library work, normative documents regulating the activities of libraries, standards for cataloging library resources, the process of forming a library collection, the role of academic libraries in increasing the scientific citation index of researchers and many other important aspects. 

During the practical sessions, the participants mastered new technologies in the field of information services and effective use of electronic resources to improve the quality of educational and research processes. In addition, they developed professional competencies relevant to modern requirements, shared experiences and established professional contacts.

At the end of the course, the participants received certificates confirming their qualification and readiness to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
