ENU presented "Zhamig-at-tauarikh" and "Mekhman nama-i Bukhara" books in Russian

The Eurasian National University hosted the presentation of Rashid al-dinn's book "Zhamig-at-tauarikh" (volume 2) and Ruzbihan's book "Mekhman nama-i Bukhara" translated into Russian by a member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Yerzhan Issakulov.
The event was attended by government and public figures, famous scientists, deputies.
"The famous world work by Rashid al-dinn "Zhamig-at-tauarikh" is valuable because it gives true information about the century of Genghis Khan. The translation of the book into Russian enriches our ancient historical base and promotes the field of Oriental studies to a new level," ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov said.
The book "Zhamig-at-tauarikh", written 700 years ago in Persian, tells about the origin of the Turkic peoples and the ancestors of Genghis Khan from the branch of Mugul, about himself, his four sons, as well as about the states of those times.
Yerzhan Issakulov, Doctor of Political Sciences, brought the original book from Iran to Astana in 2009, after which he translated it for several years with Orazbai Zaripbai, a senior researcher at M. Auezov State University, from Persian into Kazakh. The presentation of the book took place on November 30, 2018. In 2024, Yerzhan Issakulov presents a translation of the book from Kazakh into Russian.
"Many readers have asked me to translate the book into Russian. Unlike the Kazakh version, here are the results of seven years of searches, research and conclusions that Genghis Khan came from the Turkic Mugul tribe, as well as information from ancient maps and books about Genghis Khan's ancestors, about himself and his four famous sons who grew up on the current Kazakh land, their states and places of residence of peoples", – Professor Yerzhan Issakulov shared.
The book has been published in two volumes by Foliant Publishing House. Editor-in-Chief is Orazbai Zaripbai. The editorial board includes Myrzatai Zholdasbekov, Meruyert Abuseitova, Garifolla Yessim, Serik Negimov, Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov, Ualikhan Kalizhan, Darkhan Kydyrali, Dikhan Kamzabekuly, Sultan Akimbekov and Kadyraly Konkabayev.
Yerzhan Issakulov and Orazbai Zaripbai believe that Soviet historians at one time distorted the history of Genghis Khan, who comes from the Turkic peoples and from their offshoot Mugul, turned him into a "Mongol", noting that his ancestors and he himself were born near Mount Khentei in the northeastern part of Mongolia. In addition, the names of tribes, geographical features, rivers and lakes, as well as the names of people were also changed.
In fact, Genghis Khan's ancestor in the sixteenth generation, the leader of several Borte Shin clans, together with representatives of the clans from the Charyn Canyon, settled along the Bukhtarma (Unan), Kurchum (Tugla) and Black Irtysh (Kiluran) rivers in the 7th century at the foot of Burkhan Khaldun mountain in the territory of modern East Kazakhstan. Genghis Khan's ancestors lived near the Berel mounds of the Katon-Karagai district of the current East Kazakhstan region.
The second book "Mekhman nama-i Bukhara" was written by the grandson of Abulkhair Khan, descended from the family of Jochi, cousin of Kasim Khan – adviser, spiritual associate of the last ruler of the Turkestan state and Transoxiana Muhammad Sheibani, Persian historian Ruzbihan Isfahani.
This work is an invaluable work with the content of evidence and testimonies. The book comprehensively describes the history of the state of Turkestan and its people, which existed 5 centuries ago.
The opinion about the folio was voiced by ENU Rector Yerlan Sydykov, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Rayev, President of the International Turkic Academy Shakhin Mustafayev, senior researcher at M. Auezov State University Orazbai Zaripbai, statesman and public figure Adil Akhmetov, poet Nurlan Orazalin, director of the Republican Center for the Study of Historical Materials at the Institute of Oriental Studies Meruyert Abuseitova, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of RK Garifolla Yessim.
