
ENU Research Professor elected Academician of the Latvian Academy of Sciences



Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor-Researcher of the «Technical Physics” Department at the Institute of Physical and Technical Sciences of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Alma Dauletbekova has been elected as an academician of the Latvian Academy of Sciences.
Alma Kabdinovna Dauletbekova is the scientific supervisor of several research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with an h-index of 15.
Organizing scientific events is one of A.Dauletbekova’s strengths. From 2012 to 2024, she conducted the international school-seminar "New Materials and Modern Measurement Technologies (NM&SMT)" and the international seminar REINM-2014, which served as the foundation for the REI-20 conference. She is a member of the International Organizing Committee of the REI (Radiation Effects in Insulators) conference, which has a 40-year history. Under Alma Kabdinovna’s leadership, the anniversary international REI-20 conference (rei20.kz) was held at ENU, and in August 2024, the 21st International Conference "Defects in Dielectric Materials" (ICDIM-2024) was successfully organized. This significant achievement highlights Alma Kabdinovna’s immense contribution to the development of science and education, inspiring colleagues and followers to reach new heights.
Alma Kabdinovna has been working at the Eurasian National University for almost 20 years. She researches the modification of optical, structural, and micromechanical properties of functional materials under the influence of high-energy heavy ions.
Previously, Alma Dauletbekova was honored with several state awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan:
– Awarded the badge «Honored Worker of Education» for outstanding achievements in the field of education, No. 01455 (May 21, 2008);
– Recipient of the state grant “Best University Lecturer of 2009";
– Holder of the "Bolashak" scholarship (2009);
– Awarded the "L.N. Gumilyov" medal for her contribution to the development of science and education at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (2014);
– Awarded the medal "For contribution to the development of science of the Republic OF Kazakhstan," No. 120 (April 10, 2014);
– Recipient of the state grant "Best University Lecturer of 2015";
– Laureate of the K.I. Satpayev Award for the best scientific research in the field of natural sciences (2020);
– Holder of the state grant "Best Researcher of 2022."
