
Celebration of World Arabic Language Day at ENU







On December 6, 2024, the Faculty of International Relations, as part of the activities of the Arabic Language Club, celebrated World Arabic Language Day, which was approved by UNESCO in 2012 and is celebrated annually on December 18. The event was organized by the Department of Oriental Studies.
This year, the director of the Islamic Institute was invited as guests of honor. Khusamuddin al-Syganaki under the SAMK, PhD Baghdad Manabayev and D. Sabri Muhammad Abdulazim, who is currently carrying out his activities at this institute at the invitation of the Kazakh side.
On behalf of ENU, the guests were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Miras Kosybayev and head of the Department of Oriental Studies Gulnara Birimkulova.
Bagdad Manabayev in his congratulatory speech dwelled on the importance of the Arabic language in the history of Islamic civilization and at the present stage.
As part of the celebration, the Egyptian professor gave a lecture to the teaching staff and students of the Arab branch of the Department of Oriental Studies, in which he showed the features and place of the Arabic language both for its native speakers and representatives of other peoples. Sabri Muhammad Abdulazim also shared his experience of working in Kazakhstan and applying modern methods in teaching Arabic. Thus, another opportunity was presented for students and undergraduates to hear Arabic speech performed by a native speaker.
At the end of the event, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Miras Kosybayev presented the Arab guest with a letter of thanks, and acting Professor Samal Tuleubayeva, on behalf of the Arab branch of the department, thanked D. Sabri Muhammad Abdulazim for the visit and presented him with a memorable gift on behalf of the Department of Oriental Studies.
