
ENU Scientists Contributed Their Proposals and Developments on Copper Leaching in Kazakhstan



Scientists from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University participated in the scientific and technological session of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, «Modern Leaching Methods and Their Prospects for Application in the Mining and Metallurgical Complex of Kazakhstan», held in Karaganda.
The discussion featured representatives from ENU, including Professor Jumat Kargin, Head of the Department of Industrial and Civil Construction Technology of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction Lyazat Aruova, Head of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Eldar Kopishev, Associate Professor Akpan Kirgizbayev, Head of the ENU-LAB Laboratory Marat Konkanov, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction Leila Zhaksylikova, and Researcher Aitolkyn Uali.
The Kazakhmys Corporation invited scientists to discuss scientific and industrial practices for copper leaching. A total of 82 participants attended the event, including 47 scientists, 20 industrial experts, and 15 representatives from Kazakhmys Corporation LLP.
During the session, participants addressed key topics:
Kazakhstani and international advancements in leaching technologies;
prospects for developing leaching technology in Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgical sector;
industry experience in applying leaching technologies.
All hackathon participants presented their proposals and developments, which can be considered for further implementation at Kazakhmys Corporation enterprises.
