60th Star Trek to the Places of Military and Labour Glory, Dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People in the Great Patriotic War

From January 28 to 31, 2025, the team from the Faculty of History took part in the international 60th Star Trek to the places of military and labour glory of the Belarusian people, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus. The Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University organized the event.

The main goal of the Star Trek is, first and foremost, to honour the memory of those who perished during the Great Patriotic War and to preserve the historical truth about the events of those years. Before the official start of the Star Trek, all participants gathered at the ‘Minsk – Hero-City’ stele and laid flowers at the monument. They then visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War.

Our team was part of the student detachment ‘Bagration’ and was based in Stolbtsy. Team Leader Associate Professor of the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology, S.Z. Razdykov. During the trip, our students met with war and labour veterans, held a commemorative rally, and laid flowers at the monument to the soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War, as well as at the monument to Jakub Kolas.
At Secondary School No. 3 in Stolbtsy, a dialogue platform titled "The Genocide of the Belarusian People During the Great Patriotic War" was held with the participation of Alexander Alisevich, prosecutor of the Stolbtsy district. Our students also visited the exhibition "Genocide of the Belarusian People During the Great Patriotic War" at Secondary School No. 4 in Stolbtsy.
As part of the Bagration detachment, we organized and performed joint patriotic concert programs for schoolchildren and local residents.

Performances included the kui "Adai" by Kalabaev Yernur, Abai Kunanbaev's poem "Kоzimnіn karasy" recited by Dauletbaev Adil, and our traditional dance "Shashu", presented by Rublevskaya Vika. The audience warmly received these performances. Spectators from Belarus expressed great appreciation for our contributions, approached us after the event for photos, and showed interest in learning to play the dombra and perform traditional Kazakh dances.

We also visited the burial sites of our fellow countrymen who perished during the Great Patriotic War and laid flowers at the monument "Kazakhstani Soldiers Who Died in Belarus."
Our participation in the international 60th Star Trek to the places of military and labour glory of the Belarusian people, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, received wide media coverage.

Representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan also took part in laying flowers at the monument ‘Minsk - Hero-City’, and reflected the participation of our students on their website:
For our students, this trip was a unique experience that brought together young people from different countries, allowing them to cultivate a deep sense of respect for the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. It provided invaluable experience, new friendships, and lasting impressions.
I would like to emphasize the importance and relevance of Star Treks in modern times, particularly in this anniversary year of the Great Victory, as they play a crucial role in preserving historical memory and ensuring an objective understanding of the events of the Great Patriotic War.
